We’re proud to be driving forward our community work – quite literally – with our new van.
At Her-Place Charitable Trust, we provide a wide range of services across Cheshire, and our new wheels will help us deliver supplies to events and support pop-up health sessions out in the community.
This wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support of our funders. SP Energy Networks, which has a base in Middlewich, provided a generous £8,000 donation towards the purchase, alongside contributions from CPC Project Services, Wistaston Parish Council and Chester Women’s Choir.
I (Kate Blakemore, Founder) also helped kickstart the fundraising with an 18-hour podcast, chatting to supporters along the way.
“The podcast was quite a feat and I want to thank all the amazing ladies who joined me and spurred me on through the hours.
“As we stage events, we do need to carry a lot of equipment and the van is already making a huge difference to our day-to-day activities.”
Our van will help us bring essential materials to health awareness events and outreach sessions, supporting women and girls with advice, resources and practical help.
It will also support our recycled school uniform scheme and the distribution of free period products.
Proudly displaying our bright pink logo, it will also help raise awareness as we travel across the community.
We operate from bases on Beech Drive in Crewe and Finsbury Walk in Winsford.
We also have some exciting events coming up. On March 17, we’ll be hosting our Women in Business Lunch at Cheshire College, South & West, and on March 28, our Winsford base will host an international tea party celebrating food and culture from around the world.
“Times are tough for the charity sector, but we are determined not to cut back on the services we provide.
“So income generation will be a key focus this year, and we have launched our #GivetoGain campaign for anyone who can support with fundraising.”
Our latest annual report highlights the impact of our work, with a record 5,000 individuals supported—representing £3,657,032 of economic value.
Through our sister organisation, The Learning Well, we also work with local businesses to support employee wellbeing, boosting morale and productivity.
