Dance-a-thon to Raise Funds for Vital New Launderette in Crewe

Women across the local community are invited to put on their dancing shoes and make a difference at an upcoming Dance-a-thon, raising funds for a much needed community launderette in Crewe.

The event promises an uplifting evening of music, and connection, bringing women together to dance the night away all while supporting local families facing hardship.

While Cheshire is often seen as part of an affluent county, the reality for many families is very different. Some areas, specifically Crewe are the most deprived towns in England, with households struggling to afford everyday essentials including access to clean clothing.

The planned community launderette aims to provide a safe, welcoming space where individuals and families can wash and dry their clothes with dignity, helping to ease financial pressure and support wellbeing.

Our CEO, Kate Blakemore, said:
“We see firsthand the challenges many families in our community are facing. Access to something as basic as clean clothes can have a huge impact on confidence, school attendance and overall wellbeing. This launderette will be a lifeline for many.”

The Dance-a-thon is designed to reflect that same spirit of community while offering a fun, inclusive space for women to come together, have fun and support a meaningful cause.

Attendees can expect an energising atmosphere filled with music and dancing all while contributing to a project that will make a lasting difference in Crewe.
